Police are looking for two men, at least one of them armed, who are alleged to have assaulted a young couple at a Lehman Township residence.

At 11:29 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, the Pennsylvania State Police at Blooming Grove dispatched Troopers to a reported attempted robbery at 3565 Acorn Circle.

One of the victims, a 22-year-old man from East Stroudsburg, told police that two unknown men came to his front door asking for jumper cables. A short time later, he said, the two men assaulted him and his girlfriend, 25, who is also from East Stroudsburg. They fought the alleged assailants out of the residence, police said.

During the altercation, one of the men brandished a black handgun that was used to strike the male victim in the head, according to the police report.

The men then fled the area in a gold or tan minivan driven by a third person, according to police. The van is believed to be a Kia Sedona with Pennsylvania plates. The van had a black rim or spare tire on the passenger side.
