The Pennsylvania State Police at Blooming Grove on Tuesday declined to confirm the fate of Fayez Dahan, 84, of Philadelphia, who has been missing since Oct. 1 while visiting family in Shohola. Police said a press release would be issued Tuesday afternoon but later said there would be no immediate release or statement. A family friend posted on Facebook earlier on Tuesday: "For those of you following the disappearance of Fayez Dahan ... Here's an update from my friend: 'I wanted to reach out and share that the mystery/nightmare has been solved. My father in law has been found. He was involved in a single car accident. He must have lost control of the car on a bend in the road and crossed the over to the other side of the road. He hit the curb and was propelled over the side and down an embankment. His car was found crashed into a tree in the woods. He would not have been seen from the road. The crash scene investigators say that due to the severity of the crash he probably died on impact. As horrible as that may sound, it is comforting to know that he did not suffer. Thank you to everyone for your kind words and support throughout this time. It really meant the world to us.'"
