'Christmas Carol' tickets available Sunday

MILFORD — Tickets go on sale on Sunday, Nov. 1, for the popular annual holiday program, "A Christmas Carol," at Grey Towers National Historic Site in Milford.
The dramatic presentations kick off a two-week special holiday tour season at Grey Towers. Guided tours of all three floors of the mansion, beautifully decorated for the season by the U.S. Forest Service and the Milford Garden Club, are offered at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. every day from Monday, Dec. 7, through Saturday, Dec. 19.
Dramatic readings were a popular form of entertainment when Grey Towers was the home of the Pinchot family in the late 1800s through mid-20th century. The U.S. Forest Service and Grey Towers Heritage Association re-create these literary programs with readings and dramatizations. There are no costumes, scenery or music. The story is told dramatically, and much is left to the imagination.
Now in its 34th year, the “Christmas Carol” dramatic reading will be performed by Joe Plummer Jr., founder and director of Gotta Kid To Feed Productions, a digital media company, and Therese Plummer, an actor and award-winning voiceover artist living and working in New York City. Both are the children of Joe Plummer Sr. of Delaware, who performed the readings for the first 30 years and recently retired.
