Dispositions in Pike County Court

Pike County District Attorney Raymond J. Tonkin announced the following criminal sentences were issued on Jan. 4 by Pike County Court of Common Pleas Judge Gregory Chelak:
Benjamin William Scully, 28, of Hawley, Pa., was sentenced to 6 months of probation, to run concurrent with his 2014 sentence, and fined $300 for the crime of Receiving Stolen Property. On Sept. 17, 2017, a stolen license plate was found in use on Scully’s vehicle while it was parked in a business parking lot located in Blooming Grove Township.
Kyle Harris Kelly, 24, of Latrobe, Pa., was sentenced to 82 days to 1 year in the Pike County Jail and fined $600 for the crimes of Resisting Arrest and Institutional Vandalism. Eastern Pike Regional Police were dispatched to a reported fight in progress on Avenue K in Matamoras on July 17, 2016. Kelly acted in a belligerent and threatening manner and failed to comply with directives from the officer. When placed in the police vehicle, Kelly proceeded to do $325 in damage to the rear driver side door and window of the police car.
Mark Joseph Worzel, 45, of Exeter, Pa., was sentenced to 14 days to 6 months in the Pike County Jail, fined $500, and had his driver’s license suspended for 12 months for the crime of Driving Under the Influence. The state police responded to Route 590 in Lackawaxen Township on Jan. 27, 2017, where Worzel was involved in a one-vehicle crash. In making contact with Worzel, several open beer cans were visible in Worzel’s vehicle. Worzel was observed to have bloodshot and glassy eyes by the trooper and the smell of an alcoholic beverage was detected. Worzel admitted to drinking prior to driving. Field sobriety tests showed impairment, and a breath test confirmed a blood-alcohol content of 0.149 percent.
John Chester Pajor, 58, of Old Forge, Pa., was sentenced to 5 days to 6 months in the Pike County Jail, fined $300, and had his driver’s license suspended for 12 months for the crime of Driving Under the Influence. Pajor was stopped by the state police on May 28, 2016, for speeding along I-84 in Dingman Township. The trooper detected the smell of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the vehicle. A field sobriety test showed impairment and a breath test confirmed a blood-alcohol content of 0.105 percent.
Cory Justin Willis, 35, of East Stroudsburg, Pa., was sentenced to 12 months of probation and fined $500 for the crime of Unsworn Falsification to Authorities. Willis falsified information on an application to purchase a firearm at a gun show in Westfall Township on Jan. 17, 2015. Willis failed to disclose a prior conviction for a DUI in 2006.
Keith A. Beckhorn, 37, of Bushkill, Pa., was sentenced to 18 months to 36 months in a state correctional facility and fined $500 for the crime of Theft. Beckhorn took a mini excavator valued in excess of $2,000 from a work site in Milford Borough on April 4, 2016, without the owner’s permission.
Tyrik Anthony Gales, 23, of Milford, Pa., was sentenced to 20 days to 7 months in the Pike County Jail to run concurrent to his 2016 sentence and fined $300 for the crime of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. On Jan. 24, 2017, during a home visit in Dingman Township by the Pike County Probation Officers, Gales was found in possession of containers for the storage of marijuana and a scale.
Mark D. Krauss, 54, of Greeley, Pa., was sentenced to a $300 fine for the Summary Offense of Harassment. On July 5, 2016, at a residence in Lackawaxen Township, Krauss threatened to shoot an individual’s horse for non-payment of boarding fees.
Mathew John Stillwagon, 31, of Newton, N.J., was sentenced to 5 months to 23.5 months in the Pike County Jail, to run concurrent to his April 20.
