Kids invited to commissioners' fishing derby

MILFORD — Spring is here! And that means the annual Pike County Children’s Fishing Derby can't be far behind.
The Pike County Commissioners invite children under 16 to join their 22nd annual fishing derby from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 28 (rain or shine), at Lily Pond, off of Route 6 on Schocopee Road in Milford.
There is no fee for this event. Registration will be held the day of the event. Prizes will be awarded by age group.
Participants must be accompanied by an adult. Pennsylvania fishing rules and regulations apply.
Stocking at Lily Pond will take place at 7 a.m., and children are welcome to help. Approximately 1,500 trout will have been stocked by the state and 400 trout will be stocked by the county, with the trout ranging from 13 to 24 inches.
