Tonkin: Still only one student detained for terror threat
MILFORD — District Attorney Ray Tonkin says there's still only one Delaware Valley student before the juvenile justice court in Pike County, related to a terroristic threat the student allegedly made against the school in October.
Because of the student's age, no more information can be provided at this time, Tonkin said.
Tonkin contacted the Courier immediately upon reading in last week's story "School tweaks policy related to violence" that he could not be reached by phone. (The phone number used by the Courier is in question.)
In October, the authorities were looking for other students who may have been involved in the plot to harm the school.
Tonkin said parents and school faculty should continue to be vigilant, and report any suspicious activity either to the Eastern Regional Pike Police or the Shohola Police.
On Oct. 22, the Eastern Regional Pike Police launched an investigation with the Delaware Valley School Police that led to the student's arrest and detention that same day at a secure facility. At an Oct. 26 hearing, the Court of Common Pleas deemed it "appropriate" to continue the student's detention.
