This Saturday, the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance (DVAA) presents the Sullivan Arts Grantee Award Showcase, which will honor the community groups and artists selected to receive re-grant funding in 2019.
The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 18 at the Tusten Theatre, located at 210 Bridge St. in Narrowsburg, N.Y.
“We are truly fortunate to have such an exciting range of creative voices here in Sullivan County," said DVAA’s Executive Director, Ariel Shanberg. "Our 2019 grantees contribute greatly to our communities and make living here uniquely special."
This year, DVAA re-granted $37,000 to local artists and organizations for arts and cultural program in the county. Arts for Sullivan grants are funded through the New York State Council on the Arts’s Decentralization grant, and Sullivan County Arts and Heritage grants are made possible with funding provided by a Sullivan County Legislature grant.
The showcase will include opening remarks by New York State Senator Jen Metzger of the 42nd District.
The event will also feature performances by 2019 grantees, including a duet by the Delaware Valley Opera’s Mary Burkart and Ken Parks, a reading by Bizzy Coy, and a one-act play performed by Cole Phillips of Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information about DVAA’s re-grant programs visit delawarevalleyartsalliance.org or call 845-252-7576.
