— Ruth Jones of Kittatinny Canoes was awarded the Gail Sterrett Marketing Award, presented to a marketing professional in the hospitality industry of the Pocono Mountains who shows true excellence in marketing.

The award was presented at the annual report luncheon of the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau on Oct. 19 at the Mount Airy Casino Resort.

Kittatinny Canoes was founded in 1941 and since then it has grown into one of the largest liveries around.

"Ruth Jones has an everlasting passion for the Delaware River, from the livery to the past 28 years of Annual River Clean Ups," says a statement from Kittatinny Canoes. "The Jones family continues to preserve the river’s beauty by keeping it clean and pure for future paddlers. Thank you to the PMVB for the recognition and continued support of local tourism in the Pocono Mountains."
