— “Talking Heads," the third annual monologue night performed by the Presby Players, is set for an encore performance at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 2, at Marsh Hall, 60 Sussex St., Port Jervis, N.Y.
Always a popular production, it is an opportunity for the actors in the community theater to showcase their talent in front of a live audience.
Why monologues?
“This is in preparation for auditions and castings and it is a chance to perform on stage in public," said explained director Jeffrey Stocker. “It’s also a fundraiser for scholarships for students who would like to study with us but have financial difficulties.”
The performances include seasoned actors and those who are new to the craft. Poet and screenwriter Veronica Coyne is a new acting student and says she’s “looking forward to it,” admitting, “I’m a little nervous.”
This will be a first also for Wendy Gavin-Lainjo, who is fulfilling a wish.
“I’ve wanted to do this for a long time,” she said.
Admission is $10. For more information call 845-856-1231.
