Barbara Ann “Babs” DeJansen of Greentown, Pa., passed away at home on Monday, Jan. 8, 2018. She was 72.

Daughter of the late George Melvin and Elizabeth (Coffey) Webb, she was born on March 22, 1945, in Baltimore, Md.

She worked as a retail saleswoman in a few different department stores and a caregiver for Kelly’s Home for Adults, Narrowsburg, N.Y.

Babs was a warmhearted person and will be remembered for her love of animals and sense of humor. She will always be loved and missed beyond words.

Her first marriage was for 11 years to Gerald R. Demarest, who preceded her in death on Nov. 23, 1998. Her second marriage, for 19 years, was to Robert A. “Bob” DeJansen, who preceded her in death on Jan. 2, 1997.

Babs enjoyed spending time fishing with Bob and bird watching.

She leaves behind her daughter, Deborah O’Brien and husband, Chris, of Bushkill, Pa.; sisters, Eileen Kelly and husband, George, of Tamiment, Pa., and Nancy Webb of Hackettstown, N.J.; grandson, Haydn P. Watkins of Brodheadsville, Pa.; step-daughter, Diane Stoilkov; step-granddaughter, Robin Stoilkov, Wy.; sister-in-law, Joyce Demarest, Totowa, N.J.; brother-in-law, Lester Demarest; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother-in-laws, Harold Anacker, and George Demarest.

She was cremated at MacLennan Hall Crematorium, Milford Township. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to the Pike County Humane Society or the ASPCA.
