Kindness matters

To the Editor:

Although it was a tough eight days to go without power, it was nice to see my neighbors come together and help one another.

From the beginning when the storm was over, neighbors were out to check on each other. I witnessed people bringing hot cups of coffee or sandwiches to those who needed it. Those who were using gas for their generators but cars were blocked in didn't have to worry about not having enough gas to get through this time, because any neighbor was ready and willing to help. We all looked out for one another, which is what made a very difficult time a little more tolerable.

A special thank you to Milford Water Company for helping clear the road of the massive number of trees that fell so that the utility companies could get to us and begin repairs.

I know it was a hard time for everyone, and I truly want to say thank you to all of my neighbors on Pine Acres Lane for the kindness and generosity during this time, and for all of the people who worked so hard to get our power back.
