Pike County District Attorney Raymond J. Tonkin announced the following criminal sentences were issued by the Pike County Court of Common Pleas Judge Gregory Chelak:
April 28
Jennifer Lynn Miranda, 30, of Milford, Pa., was sentenced to 3 months to 6 months in the Pike County Jail and fined $300 for the crime of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Miranda was a passenger in a vehicle traveling along SR 739 in Blooming Grove Township on June 4, 2015, that failed to stop at a stop sign. Both the driver and Miranda had prior arrests for drug possession. A search of the vehicle revealed drug paraphernalia. Miranda claimed ownership of two of the hypodermic needles.
Tyler David Benson, 30, of Port Jervis, N.Y., was sentenced to 1 year to 2 years in a state correctional facility followed by 1 year of probation and fined $1,500 for the crimes of 2 counts of Retail Theft, 2 counts of Receiving Stolen Property, and 1 count of Possession of a Controlled Substance. On March 7, Benson sold a laptop valued at $100 to a retail business in Matamoras, knowing it was stolen. On Nov. 3, Benson took $267.42 worth of merchandise from a retail store in Westfall Township without paying for it and then sold some of the items to a retail business in Matamoras. On Nov. 22, Benson took $129.98 worth of merchandise from a retail store in Westfall Township without paying for it. On Nov. 25, Benson took various items from a retail store in Westfall Township with a total value of $431.95 without paying for them. During a traffic stop by Eastern Pike Regional Police on Feb. 18, 2016, in Matamoras, Benson was a passenger in a vehicle and was found in possession of heroin.
Kristen Beau Edwards, 34, of Lords Valley, Pa., was sentenced to 1 month to 6 months in the Pike County Jail, fined $1,000 and had her driver’s license suspended for 12 months for the crime of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. The state police were dispatched to assist public safety in a domestic dispute along Hemlock Farms Drive in Blooming Grove Township on June 16, 2015. The trooper detected the smell of an alcoholic beverage when speaking with Edwards who admitted to drinking earlier. A field sobriety test was conducted and a blood test confirmed a blood alcohol content of 0.208 percent.
Morgan Lee Schoonover, 23, of Dingmans Ferry, Pa., was sentenced to 90 days to 5 years in the Pike County Jail, fined $1,500 and had her driver’s license suspended for 18 months for the crime of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. The state police were following behind Schoonover’s vehicle as it traveled along SR 739 in Blooming Grove Township on July 25, 2015, when Schoonover pulled over abruptly. The trooper approached Schoonover’s vehicle to find out why she pulled over and immediately smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage and observed Schoonover’s eyes to be glassy and her speech slurred. Schoonover admitted to having a drink prior to driving. A field sobriety test was conducted and a breath test confirmed a blood-alcohol content of 0.188 percent.
Kassandra L. Negron, 23, of Scranton, Pa., was sentenced to 3 months of probation and fined $200 for the crime of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Negron was stopped by the state police on July 5, 2015, for weaving across the lane of travel on I-84 in Greene Township. In speaking with Negron, the trooper detected the smell of burnt marijuana. A search of Negron’s vehicle revealed marijuana, two pipes and a grinder.
Shannon Alicia Martinez-Nicholas, 30, of Greentown, Pa., was sentenced to 6 months of probation and fined $300 for the crime of False Reports to Law Enforcement Authorities. Martinez-Nicholas made a false report to the state police on July 27, 2015, that a safe box containing medication was stolen from her residence along SR 507 in Greene Township.
Kristin Michelle Moscatiello, 32, of Matamoras, Pa., was sentenced to 11.5 months to 23.5 months in the Pike County Jail, followed by 1 year of probation, fined $2,500 and had her driver’s license suspended for 6 months for 4 counts of the crime of Delivery of Heroin and 1 count of Criminal Conspiracy. On Aug. 11, 2015, Aug. 13, 2015, and Aug. 20, 2015, Moscatiello sold heroin to an undercover police officer from a residence in Matamoras. On Sept. 14, 2015, Moscatiello conspired with another individual and sold heroin to an undercover police officer at a gas station along Route 6 in Dingman Township.
Jessica Lynn Schanerberger, 24, of Greeley, Pa., was sentenced to 57 days to 6 months in the Pike County Jail and fined $300 for the crime of Receiving Stolen Property. Schanerberger took a lap top valued at in excess of $200 from a residence in Dingman Township on March 1, 2016, and sold it to a business in Matamoras for $75.
Nicholas J. Williams, 29, of Archbald, Pa., was sentenced to a $200 fine for 2 counts of the crime of Bad Checks. On Nov. 14 and Nov. 17, 2014, Williams wrote checks totaling $761.24 for merchandise purchased at a business located in Milford Borough, knowing the account was closed.
Jesse James Grunwald, 20, of Middletown, N.Y., was sentenced to 42 days to 84 days in Pike County Jail and fined $400 for 2 counts of the crime of Retail Theft. On July 31, 2015, Grunwald took four video games valued at $296.72 from a retail store in Westfall Township without paying for them. On Aug. 5, 2015, Grunwald took eight video games valued at $343.68 from a retail store in Westfall Township without paying for them.
William L. Bosley, 27, of Matamoras, Pa., was sentenced to 12 months to 24 months in a state correctional facility and fined $500 for the crime of Access Device Fraud. Bosley used a debit card belonging to another individual, without their permission, on three separate occasions at a retail store in Matamoras, to obtain a total of $280.
Billy Jack Degraw, 36, of Honesdale, Pa., was sentenced to 60 days to 12 months in the Pike County Jail and fined $500 for the crime of Resisting Arrest. Eastern Pike Regional Police were dispatched to a retail store in Westfall Township for a report of Degraw huffing compressed air in the restroom. Degraw was ordered to put the can down but refused and continued resisting while attempts were made to put him under arrest.
Michael Christopher Chelune, 27, of Brooklyn, N.Y., was sentenced to a $500 fine for the crime of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. State police were dispatched to assist public safety at residence in a development located in Lackawaxen Township on Sept. 18, 2015, for an impaired driver who failed to stop at a stop sign. The trooper detected the smell of Marijuana in speaking with Chelune, the driver. Chelune was found in possession of Marijuana.
Willis Sheridan Mann, 19, of Glen Spey, N.Y., was sentenced to a $500 fine for the crime of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Mann was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped at a DUI checkpoint being operated in Matamoras on Aug. 30, 2015. The officer detected the smell of marijuana in vehicle Mann was riding in. Mann was found in possession of marijuana.
Michael Anthony Siano, 21, of Bloomingburg, N.Y., was sentenced to a $500 fine for the crime of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Siano was stopped at a DUI checkpoint being operated in Matamoras on Aug. 30, 2015. The officer detected the smell of marijuana in Siano’s car. A search of the vehicle revealed three marijuana pipes and marijuana flakes.
Jonathan E. Lewis, 30, of Cornwall, N.Y., was sentenced to 72 hours to 6 months in the Pike County Jail, fined $1,000 and had his driver’s license suspended for 12 months for the crime of Driving Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance. The state police were dispatched to a report of a person driving erratically. The vehicle was found at a gas station in Blooming Grove Township. Lewis, the driver of the vehicle, was observed to have lethargic speech, and his pupils were constructed and bloodshot. Lewis admitted that he previously had a drug problem. A Field Sobriety Test was conducted and indicated impairment. Lewis was transported to the hospital for a blood draw but refused the test.

Patrick Timothy Falvey, 30, of Hawley, Pa., was sentenced to a $500 fine and restitution for the crime of Criminal Mischief. On Sept. 11, 2015, Falvey drove a vehicle onto a golf course fairway in Lords Valley, Pa., causing over $1,000 in damage.
Gary Anthony Biasi, 58, of Jersey City, N.J., was sentenced to 6 months to 12 months in the Pike County Jail and fined $500 for the crime of Criminal Conspiracy. Biasi conspired with another individual to take a 2004 pickup truck valued in excess of $2,000 from a location in Greene Township without the owner’s permission.
Joseph Rivera, 35, of Port Jervis, N.Y., was sentenced to 6 months to 23 months in the Pike County Jail and fined $500 for the crime of Simple Assault. Rivera hit an individual in the face with a closed fist several times, causing injury outside a business in Matamoras Borough on Sept. 12, 2015.
Robert Joseph Reitmeyer, 44, of Wilkes-Barre, Pa., was sentenced to 10 days to 6 months in the Pike County Jail, fined $1,000 and had his driver’s license suspended for 12 months for the crime of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Reitmeyer was stopped by the state police along Brink Hill Road in Greene Township on Dec. 12, 2013, for failing to use his turn signal and crossing the double yellow line with his vehicle several times. When speaking with Reitmeyer, the trooper detected the smell of an alcoholic beverage. Reitmeyer admitted to consuming alcohol prior to driving. A Field Sobriety Test was conducted which showed impairment. A breath test confirmed a blood alcohol content of 0.164 percent.
James Robert Barbone, 62, of Milford, Pa., was sentenced to 12 months of probation and fined $200 for the crime of Unsworn Falsification to Authorities. Barbone attempted to purchase a gun from a business in Milford Township on April 4, 2015, and failed to disclose on the application for purchase his conviction of three felonies in Morris County, N.J., in 1981.
Paul Edwin Evans, 60, of Canadensis, Pa., was sentenced to 1 year to 5 years in a state correctional facility, fined $1,500 and had his driver’s license suspended for 18 months for the crime of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. The state police were dispatched to a single vehicle crash along Mozette Road in Greene Township on Feb. 2, 2015. The trooper detected the smell of an alcoholic beverage in speaking with Evans, who was the driver of the vehicle, and observed his movements to be sluggish. A breath test confirmed a blood-alcohol content of 0.267 percent.
Jordan L. Vazquez, 22, of Bushkill, Pa., was sentenced to 1 year to 5 years in a state correctional facility and fined $1,500 for the crime of Terroristic Threats and 2 counts of the crime of Simple Assault. Vazquez struck an individual on the back of his neck with a hand gun as the individual exited the school bus at the intersection of Evergreen Road and Walnut Trail in Lehman Township on April 1, 2015. The strike caused injury to the individual and caused him to fall to the ground. Vazquez then fired a shot into the air before he fled the scene.
Michael Brian Fischer, 33, of Hawley, Pa., was sentenced to 36 months to 72 months in a state correctional facility, fined $1,800 and had his driver’s license suspended for 6 months for the crimes of Possession of a Firearm, Possession with Intent to Deliver Heroin, Forgery, Conspiracy and Access Device Fraud. While the state police were conducting a welfare check on an individual residing at the same location as Fischer on Feb. 15, 2015, authorization was given to search the bedroom Fischer resided in. The search revealed a rifle, 1.5 grams of heroin, and drug paraphernalia. Between April 14 and April 23, Fischer conspired with another individual to forge an individual’s name on a check and cash the check in the amount of $1,250.76 and used an access device to attempt to make fraudulent deposits and withdrawals from a bank in the amount of $3,900.
Cassandra Marie Marro, 21, of Canadensis, Pa., was sentenced to 6 months of probation, fined $200 and had her driver’s license suspended for 6 months for the crime of Possession of a Controlled Substance. The state police responded to a parking lot along Roemersville Road in Greene Township for a report of Harassment on April 4, 2015. Marro was found in possession of heroin, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
Darryl Charles, 48, of Middletown, N.Y., was sentenced to 15 days to 30 days in the Pike County Jail, fined $500 and had his driver’s license suspended for 6 months for the crime of Possession of a Small Amount of Marijuana. Charles pulled out in front of a trooper car at the intersection of SR 507 and I-84 in Greene Township on Oct. 25. In speaking with Charles, the trooper detected the smell of marijuana and observed him to be sweating. Upon checking, police found Charles had several controlled substance violations. A consent to search Charles’ vehicle revealed Marijuana.
Jason Michael Dupell, 42, of Newfoundland, Pa., was sentenced to 30 days to 6 months followed by 90 days, in the Pike County Jail, fined $1,300 0 and had his driver’s license suspended for 12 months for the crimes of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Operating a Vehicle Without an Ignition Interlock System. Dupell was stopped by the state police on June 17, 2015, along SR 507 and I-84 for driving erratically and having a headlight out. While speaking with Dupell, the trooper detected the smell of an alcoholic beverage. A check revealed that Dupell was required to operate a vehicle with an Ignition Interlock System as a condition of a prior DUI conviction. A Field Sobriety Test showed impairment. Dupell refused a breath test.
Robert James Guerrero, 26, of Dingmans Ferry, Pa., was sentenced to 72 hours to 6 months in the Pike County Jail, fined $1,000 0 and had his driver’s license suspended for 12 months for the crime of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. The state police responded to a one-vehicle crash along Milford Road in Dingman Township on Nov. 14, 2015. Guerrero relayed to the trooper that he did not recall what had happened. The trooper detected the smell of an alcoholic beverage in speaking with Guerrero and observed his eyes to be bloodshot and speech slurred. A breath test was conducted which confirmed a blood alcohol content of .173 percent.
James Ronald Lyons, 19, of Dalton, Pa., was sentenced to a $500 fine for the crime of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The state police observed Lyons switch seats with a suspended driver along SR 507 in Greene Township on Aug. 8, 2015. Further investigation also found Lyons and the vehicle owner in possession of drug paraphernalia.
Steven Santiago Garcia, 37, of Bushkill, Pa., was sentenced to an additional 30 days of probation to run concurrent to his previous sentence, for a total of 72 hours to 6 months in the Pike County Jail with an additional $300 fine for the crime of Possession of a Small Amount of Marijuana. Garcia was stopped by the state police along SR 209 in Lehman Township on July 3, 2015, for an expired inspection sticker. In speaking with Garcia, the trooper detected the smell of marijuana. Garcia admitted to smoking marijuana earlier in the day.
Crystal Ann Ryno, 28, presently housed in the Pike County Jail, was sentenced to 72 hours to 6 months in the Pike County Jail and fined $300 for the crime of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. While on parole for her sentence of Forgery, Ryno attended a meeting with her Probation Officer at the County Administration Building on Oct. 13, 2015, and tested positive for opiates and was found in possession of heroin packets.
Diane Batson, sentenced on May 2, 2016, 48, of Stroudsburg, Pa., was sentenced on May 2, 2016, to 4 days to 12 months in the Pike County Jail and fined $300 for the crime of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The state police were in the process of executing an arrest warrant on an individual sitting in the driver seat of a vehicle parked along Goldfinch Drive in Lehman Township. Batson, who was the passenger, was found in possession of heroin packets and syringes on July 28, 2015.
Jason William Kolody, 35, of Taylor, Pa., was sentenced on May 4, 2016, to 6 months to 24 months in a state correctional facility to run concurrent with an existing sentence, and a fine of $500 for the crime of Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition. Between Oct. 16, 2013, and Dec. 13, 2013, Kolody took a vehicle valued in excess of $2,000 from a residence in Greene Township without the owner’s permission.
