Pike and Wayne travel guide offers free listings

Travel guide goes online with mobile-first map, will include Monroe and Carbon counties next year

The Pike and Wayne County Commissioners and Hotel Tax Boards will jointly to produce a travel guide.

“We’re looking forward to working with Pike and Wayne Counties again this year,” said Brian Bossuyt, Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau Vice President of Marketing. "This effort has allowed both counties to pool their resources in attracting visitors to their counties.”

This guide will be the official "stay and play" resource for visitors to Pike and Wayne. To make it as comprehensive as possible, the guide offers tourism‐related businesses a free listing, funded by the county hotel tax. Full-color advertising is also available.

This year 90,000 guides will be printed and distributed to more than 500 locations throughout Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey, including the Interstate Welcome Centers and Pocono Mountains Visitor Centers.

The guide will also be accessible oat PoconoMountains.com, where the Pocono Mountains Visitor’s Bureau has launched a user-friendly and mobile-first interactive map. This will also carry over in the travel guide with a printed version of the map that can be removed from the guide to showcase the entire destination.

This begins the merger of the current Wayne and Pike travel guide into a four-county travel guide to include Monroe and Carbon counties, set to be launched next spring.

“We’ve seen the success over the past couple of years with this guide,” said Bossuyt. "Along with the data we have on our visitors and requests for more information we’re now going to expand this guide into an Official Pocono Mountains Travel Guide to cover the entire region of the Pocono Mountains.”

Bailey Design and Advertising in Honesdale has published the travel guide for the last nine years and has again been chosen to design, coordinate advertising, and publish the guide.
