Bluegrass festival comes to Poconos June 21-23

The 22nd Annual Pocono Mountains Bluegrass Festival returns June 21 through 23 to the GDS Fairgrounds (routes 191 & 507) in Newfoundland.
This outdoor family event has a covered stage and seating area, camping (FREE with a weekend ticket), food and craft vendors, a midnight campsite jam contest, workshops, and plenty of music both on stage and off.
The historic fairgrounds is an area of great natural beauty and a terrific place for a weekend of bluegrass music.
The bands include: A Pennsylvania favorite, Remington Ryde, The Lilly Mountaineers (from W. VA.), Louie Setzer & The Appalachian Mountain Boys, Mark Miklos, The Blades of Grass, Chester Johnson, Moonshine Falls, and the house band, Scott Eager & High Lonesome Sound.
The music runs from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday and features a bluegrass open stage from 5 through 8 p.m., 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday along with a Friday midnight campsite jam contest.
The gates open at 8:30 a.m. each day.
If you goTickets can be purchased at the gate on days of the festival.
This rain or shine event for the whole family (including friendly dogs) emphasizes traditional bluegrass in a beautiful setting at an affordable price whether you come for the weekend or just for a day.
Young folks 17 & under are admitted FREE with paying adult.There are showers and restrooms on the grounds.
