Alvin T. Ulbrich Jr. of Port Jervis, N.Y., dies at age 69

Alvin T. Ulbrich Jr. of Port Jervis, N.Y., passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2018, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 69.

Son of Alvin T. Ulbrich Sr. and Olga Michulski Ulbrich, he was born on March 16, 1949, in Port Jervis.

Alvin proudly served our country with the U.S. Army from 1969-1971. He was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Port Jervis and a former member of the Neversink Engine Co. in Port Jervis.

Alvin worked as sales clerk for Neversink Lumber Co. in Port Jervis, AJM Lumber Co. in Montgomery, N.Y., Narrowsburg Lumber, and Stevenson Lumber Co. in Newburgh, N.Y.

He retired from Home Depot in Middletown, N.Y.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Lowry Ulbrich, who survives at home; daughters, Laura Siegfried and her husband, Benjamin, of Easton, Pa., Lisa Stierle and her husband, Jon, of Milford, Pa.; son, Michael Ulbrich and his wife, Danielle, of Milford; his beloved grandchildren, Zach, Alexis, Samantha, Jason, Teddy, Dominick and several cousins.

Visitation was held July 5 at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, Port Jervis. The Mass of Christian Burial was held July 6 at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Port Jervis, with the Rev. Matthew Newcomb as the celebrant. Interment with military honors took place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Port Jervis.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society, 121 Executive Drive, New Windsor, NY 12553.
