To the Editor:

In case you haven’t heard, the Delaware River is one of four finalists for Pennsylvania's 2019 River of the Year!

Pennsylvania's River of the Year program celebrates the commonwealth's rivers and their unique natural resources, recreational opportunities, connections to communities, and support of local economies. And, we all know that the Delaware meets and exceeds in all these categories and is deserving of this honor. The winning river will host a sojourn and will also receive a leadership grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources to help put on a series of celebratory events throughout the year.

It is now up to the public to vote for their favorite river, and we are asking if folks would vote for the Delaware and help spread the word. Voting runs through Friday, Jan. 4. Vote at

You do not have to be a Pennsylvania resident to vote in this contest.

Best wishes for a happy holiday and new year!
