Crews have wrapped up work on an historic bridge that connects the states of New York and Pennsylvania over the Delaware River.

The governors of the two states announced the completion of the $2.7 million project on Jan. 4.

The Kellams-Stalker Bridge was built in 1890. It's a single-span steel suspension bridge located within the Delaware River National Park. About 300 vehicles per day use the span.

The renovation involved the installation of new steel in the bridge deck as well as new support beams, a new paint job and other minor repairs.

Officials say transportation officials in both states worked closely with each other and with local and federal authorities on the project.

New York and Pennsylvania share responsibility for 10 bridges that connect the two states.
