“Sharon and her family are remarkable and loving people. They took the grief they have suffered from such a catastrophic loss and turned it into something positive for future generations. To me, this scholarship fund represents the lasting power of love.”
Jenni Hamill, executive director of Greater Pike Community Foundation

The Greater Pike Community Foundation has established a new scholarship fund in memory of local Delaware Valley student Kyle James Pascoe.

His mother, Sharon Marks, established the fund with the intention of awarding two scholarships in his name in 2020 — the year in which he would have graduated. Kyle died in a car accident on Oct. 28, 2018, when he was a junior.

Kyle was a popular student who played quarterback and cornerback on the Delaware Valley football team, wearing the jersey number 10. He excelled both in sports and in academics, which is why Sharon plans to kick off the fund by making two awards: one for a student who excels in sports, and the other for a student who excels in academics.

The first scholarships will be awarded next spring.

“Sharon and her family are remarkable and loving people," said Jenni Hamill, executive director of Greater Pike Community Foundation. "They took the grief they have suffered from such a catastrophic loss and turned it into something positive for future generations. To me, this scholarship fund represents the lasting power of love.”

Family and friends of the Pascoe family are planning a football and basketball tournament fundraiser on Saturday, July 27, at the Delaware Valley football field to raise money for the scholarship.

Greater Pike is now accepting tax-deductible donations on behalf of the Kyle James Pascoe Memorial Scholarship fund. Checks should be made payable to: GPCF-Kyle James Pascoe Memorial Fund and mailed to Greater Pike Community Foundation, P.O. Box 992, Milford PA 18337.

For questions about this or any other Greater Pike Fund, contact Jenni Hamill, executive director, at 570-832-4686, jennihamill@greaterpike.org or by visiting the website: greaterpike.org.
