A nature trail that loops around the pond, across the stream, and through the woods is now open to the public for walking, running, biking, and otherwise enjoying.

The trail is located across the street from Woodbourne Park on Sherman Ridge Road in Wantage Township. The whole trail loops for about one mile. This expanded portion of the park was purchased last year by Wantage Township.

The trail is being mowed and maintained, and the three bridges that cross the streams have been updated and repaired. You can park at Woodbourne Park and then walk across Sherman Ridge Road on the crosswalk through the wooden fences to enjoy the park any day until dusk.

On Saturday, Oct. 17, from 4 to 6 p.m., guided walks will be led by members of the Wantage Township Open Space Committee before the fireworks event at Woodbourne Park.

The committee is also continuing to gather input from residents about how to further develop the property. Share your ideas at an open house to be held on Monday, Oct. 19, at 7 p.m. at the Wantage Township municipal building. Masks will be required, and attendance will be limited. You can also email your ideas to rbassani@wantagetwp-nj.org.
