Jewelry designer Katrin Zimmermann to give presentation at library

| 01 Oct 2019 | 01:07

Milford. The NYC-based jewelry designer, Katrin Zimmermann will talk about her work at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 4, the Pike County Public Library on East Harford Street in Milford.

Thanks to the generosity of The Greater Pike Community Foundation, Peters Valley School of Craft invites the public to attend a series of free artist lectures held monthly at the library.

Zimmermann studied Jewelry Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and founded Ex Ovo in 1992. She has lived on three continents in several countries, and the exposure to so many different cultures is evident in her approach to design and distilled into the striking simplicity of her pieces. She draws inspiration from a base that is multicultural, but her constant search for innovation makes each piece truly modern.

Her strongest influence is the art and cultural heritage of the Far East. The focus of her design aesthetic is reduction; the emphasis on the essence of a stone, an organic shape or the inherent qualities of a material, whether synthetic or natural.
