Milford. Balourdet Quartet coming to Grey Towers for concert

| 27 Jun 2023 | 04:56

The Balourdet Quartet will perform on July 15 at 5:30 p.m. at Grey Towers National Historic Site. This is the second concert in 2023 Kindred Spirits Arts Program (KSAP) Summer Concert Series and will be held under an open-air canopy at the site’s pool pavilion.

Formed in 2018 at Rice University in Houston, Texas, the quartet takes its name from Antoine Balourdet, a chef at the Taos, NM Hotel St. Bernard and member of the Taos School of Music community. The multi-award winning, Boston, Mass.-based group is currently in residence at the New England Conservatory’s Professional String Quartet Program. Balourdet performs in concerts and in festivals all over the United States.

“These are much in demand, very talented and extremely dedicated young people bringing classical masterpieces to Grey Towers including Ludwig van Beethoven’s 1825-26 ‘Grosse Fugue, Op. 133’ and Hugo Wolf’s famed 1887 ‘Italian Serenade,’” KSAP founder and artistic director Yosef Feigelson said.

The program will also include a Felix Mendelssohn’s 1837 string quartet.

Tickets are $25 and can be purchased in advance via https://rb.gy/wtlsb, at Eventbrite.com, and at the door. Space is limited.
