MILFORD — Milford's annual tree lighting will be held on the grounds of the Community House on Saturday, Dec. 2.
Milford Presents and the Milford Lions Club will host the beloved celebration, which provides free hot cocoa and cookies for children of all ages as well as a performance by The Dingman Delaware Middle School Chorus under the direction of Brian Krauss beginning at 4:30 p.m.
Join locals and visitors alike for the ceremonial countdown and lighting of Milford's Christmas tree at 5:15 p.m., with the trees lining the downtown streets lit for the holiday season. Once the tree is lit, Santa Claus will arrive on top of Milford Fire Department's Engine 33 with a very cool team of reindeer on motorcycles from the Pike County chapter of ABATE.
Many of the Milford's specialty stores and artist galleries will remain open after the event for holiday shopping. Shop local stores this holiday for everything from kayaks to candy, jewelry to home decor, with most stores offering locally made and handcrafted one-of-a-kind gifts. Milford eateries are open into the night, as always, to accommodate dining before and after this fun holiday event.
Don't forget to bring your camera and wish list for Santa as well as your holiday shopping list.
Milford Presents is a nonprofit organization that will also coordinate Girls Night Out on Dec. 7 and Milford After Dark on Dec. 9.
