Pocono Photo Club exhibit to kick off opening of new gallery

The completion of a grant project, an art gallery in Brodhead Creek Heritage Center, is cause for celebration.

The public is invited to the opening and artists' reception from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 9, at the Gallery at Brodhead Creek Heritage Center, 1539 Cherry Lane Road, East Stroudsburg.

The new center creates space for local artists to display nature-themed artwork. A collection of Pocono Photo Club members' photography will adorn the walls of new center for the reception, kicking off a quarterly rotating exhibit. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.

The snow date is Thursday, Jan. 16, from 5 to 7 p.m.

The Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts Grant (PPA) was awarded by Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and the Pocono Arts Council.

Recipients in Pike County

In Pike County, PPA Project Stream Grants were awarded to the Barryville Area Arts Association; Delaware Dancers; Delaware Valley Choral Society; Milford Music Festival; Pike Artworks, Inc dba Milford Readers & Writers Festival; Pike County Area Agency on Aging. PPA Program Stream Grants went to the Black Bear Film Festival and Kindred Spirits Music & Arts Program.
