Harmony in The Woods Presents is sponsoring a trio of concerts this weekend to, in part, benefit acclaimed radio and TV station WVIA, which this year celebrates 50 years of service.

Headlining Harmony’s annual fundraising event is renowned Irish violinist Patricia Treacy, who will perform 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 20.

Treacy’s unique and refreshing interpretation of Irish music has thrilled audiences all over the world, including several American presidents. She is featured in the IMAX Film “Ireland,” which is narrated by Liam Neeson. Admission to this WVIA benefit is $50 or $100.

Friday

Kicking the weekend off at 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 18, will be the Shook Twins (Trio), led by twin sisters who never expected to become prominent faces on the folk, rock and Americana music scene. This will be one of only a few concerts on their brief East Coast tour. Admission is $35.

Saturday

At 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 19, The Gold Magnolias take center stage at a general admission cost of $25. Their decidedly soulful and Southern sound belies their Brooklyn roots. They perform to honor their musical heroes, such as Taj Mahal, Willie Nelson, The Allman Brothers Band, George Clinton, Little Feat and Stevie Wonder.

Each show will take place at Harmony in the Woods, located at 19 Imagination Way in Hawley. Guests are asked to arrive 45 minutes early and are welcome to bring picnic dinners, drinks and snacks. Lawn chairs are preset and provided for every attendee. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit harmonyinthewoods.org or call 570-588-8077.

The Foundation for Harmony Presents, a charitable 501c3 organization, seeks to enlighten and engage the human spirit by giving a platform for artistic discoveries and life-long reflection and learning, in the most basic and natural habitat, nestled amongst the trees, at their performing arts venue, Harmony In The Woods.
