Delaware Valley teacher honored

WESTFALL — Dingman Township resident and English teacher at Delaware Valley High School, Ernie Sandonato, was inducted into Kappa Delta Pi, the International Honor Society in Education, at the University of Scranton on Sunday, March 4.

Organized to recognize excellence in education, Kappa Delta Pi elects those to membership who exhibit the ideals of scholarship, high personal standards, and promise in teaching.

Selection to KPD is based on high academic achievement, a commitment to education as a career, and a professional attitude that assures steady growth in education.

Sandonato, who teaches AP and American literature at DV, is in his twenty-seventh year of secondary education, and holds a BA in English from NYU, a Masters in English from William Paterson University, and is in the last stage of completing a Masters in Educational Administration at Scranton where he currently hold a 4.0 GPA.

He is also a member of Sigma Tau Delta, an International English Honors Society, serves as a Trustee for Knights of Columbus Council 13935 in Milford, and is on the Pastoral Council at St. Patrick's Church.
