WESTFALL — Hunter Newman completed all of his education in the Delaware Valley School District.

He is the older of two boys in the Newman household, Hunter is eighteen and younger brother Sawyer is fifteen. He is the son of Robert and Alison Newman of Milford.

Hunter, named Valedictorian of Senior class, is a proud four year member of the D.V. Warrior Soccer program, finishing his goalie career as Defensive Player of the Year. Hunter was a class officer all four years in high school. He is a member of the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta.

Involved in various other clubs and committees, Hunter also volunteered in the community. Early in high school he helped with the Habitat for Humanity then spent most of his volunteer time with the Leo’s club (a subsidiary of the local Lion’s Chapter) of Milford.

Hunter is proudest of his 4-year internship at the Hospital for Special Surgery. Hunter’s activities include shadowing a top orthopedic surgeon, observing and studying surgical procedures, and conducting extensive research. This research has led him to co-author two medical abstracts currently under consideration for publication. These abstracts were presented at the 2011 AOFAS Summer Conference Meeting. He is currently compiling research for a Systematic Review of the Variability of Outcome Measures reported in the surgical treatment of Osteochondral Lesions of the Talus, which he will present next spring in Chicago.

Hunter will attend Boston College in the fall to study Biochemistry before applying to medical school.
