Edward S. Sperduto

Edward S. Sperduto of Milford, Pa., passed away Monday, July 27, 2020, at Westchester Medical Center, Town of Mount Pleasant, N.Y. He was 89.

Graduating from Columbia University, he was a principal for Bernards Township Board of Education in New Jersey, where he was beloved by both students and faculty. His proudest accomplishment was his service to the United States as a Navy Corpsman during the Korean War. Edward enjoyed golfing, swimming and skiing.

Son of the late Sebastian and Theresa (Astorino) Sperduto, he was born Dec. 28, 1930, in Bound Brook, N.J. He was married to Sonia “Sonny” Sperduto on Sept. 10, 1999.

He was predeceased by his late wife, Wilma Sperduto; and brother, Vito “Dick” Sperduto.

Edward will now watch over his wife, Sonny; daughters, Dina Bassett and husband, Zack, Kim LaFe’ and fiancé, Robert Santos; son, Nick Collas; grandchildren, Tanner Ropke and Elyse and Sam Bassett; great-grandson, Clark Ropke; and many family and friends.

Military honors will be performed on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 1 p.m. at 108 Bluestone Blvd., Millrift, Pa. Due to the current situation, for those who plan to attend, please email kimlropke@gmail.com the week prior to confirm that there has been no change in scheduling.
