Elena Lisica (Uzoni) of Matamoras, Pa., passed away suddenly on Monday, Oct. 21, 2019, at her home in Kukljica, Croatia, while on vacation. She was 74.

Daughter of the late Florentina Uzoni and Aksentije Uzoni, she was born in Kustilj, Yugoslovia.

She was a three-time cancer survivor. Her entire world was about her family and close friends and the love she cultivated over the years. She made time slow down, lived her life to the fullest and was involved in everyone’s lives. She enjoyed serving meals to everyone who walked in her door with her beautiful kindness. She spent her time baking cookies and cakes that were a staple at every family event- a party was not a party without Nannies’ cookies. She also looked forward to her visits to family in Kustilji and Croatia each year.

Elena is dearly missed by her loving family which includes her husband of 34 years, Ljubomir Lisica; daughter, Florentina Larkin; son-in-law, Peter Larkin, who she loved like a son; two stepsons that she loved dearly as her own sons, Anthony (and Kimberly) Lisica and Denis (and Susie) Lisica; sister, Aurelia Pavic; eight grandchildren, Caroline, Kristian (Joseph), Stephanie (John), Leigh Ann (Ryan), Ariana and Marko, Natalia and Kenzie; seven great-grandchildren, Liam, Caelyn, Sophia, Madilyn, John, Aiden and Grady; nephews Jon and Daniel and extended family.

Visitation was held Oct. 27 at Stroyan Funeral Home, Milford. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Vincent DePaul Church,Milford, on Oct. 28.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org) at the request of her granddaughter, Caroline Larkin and/or to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation (komen.org).
