Fern Naomi Lutfy passed away at home on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2020, with her daughter by her side. She was 71.

Born Feb. 1, 1949, in Port Jervis, N.Y., she is of three daughters of the late Lawrence J. Geiger and Catherine (Young) Shields.

She graduated from Port Jervis High School in 1966, married William R. Morgan on Jan. 22, 1966, in Port Jervis, and gave birth to their only child, Lisa Michele, on Sept. 3, 1966. They divorced in 1975 but remained friends.

Fern moved to Milford, Pa., where she met Gary Lutfy, who owned Lutfy Real Estate in Milford. They married on Aug. 9, 1976. She obtained her real estate license in 1978 and they worked together until Gary’s death on Sept. 15, 2002. Side by side they were quite a force together. Anyone that met them or knew them, it was quite evident they had something special. Lots of love, respect, adoration, fun and happiness. They both had smiles that lit up a room. Great laughs. They loved their family and friends. They loved their black poodles, Foxy, Nicky, Roxy and Ruby. They traveled the globe together.

They built their house in 1985 and loved their neighborhood and neighbors. It was a house for all seasons. Holidays were where the family met, food, music and laughter. Everyone was always welcome. It was always decorated for the holiday, and Fern had a little gift for you when you walked out the door.

Fern loved to dance. Motown was her favorite. She was optimistic, but realistic. Kind, smart, compassionate, devoted. She had a sense of style all her own. Always in her high heels and a great looking handbag to match. When she gave you a hug she always smelled pretty too!

Fern was the best mother a kid could have. She loved sitting, laughing, talking, shopping with her daughter Lisa. They traveled together also. It is a bond like no other. Lisa was on her hip as a baby and by her side as a woman. She created a great life for herself and her daughter. Always priority always with lots of love. She had two sisters, Denise and Jeanne, step-sister Susan loved them too!

The last ten years of Fern’s life was shared with James Perrego. She found companionship, laughter, love, happiness, and fun with Jimmy. They were seen together at local restaurants in town and would go to the casino or just out for coffee. Summers were always at the pool. He was with her until her death. He would do anything for her. She showed bravery and courage thru her illness. Strong hearted, with grace and still smiling.

Fern is survived by her daughter, Lisa, and her companion, John Herbert of Matamoras, Pa.; sister, Denise Aber Ramsey and her husband, Dan, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; stepsister, Susan (Shields) Davis of New Hampton, N.Y.; brother-in-law, Dick Lutfy, and his wife, Pam. She had three-stepchildren, Michael, Tracy, and Greg Lutfy; many nieces and nephews; her companion, James Perrego, and his daughters.

She was predeceased by her parents, both husbands, two brothers-in-law, a sister-in-law, and her youngest sister, Laura Jeanne Geiger.

Fern had a unique presence about her. She was like a ray of sunshine walking in. She was loved by all that knew her. Always a lady. Unforgettable. Heaven truly got a beautiful angel. She will be forever loved and missed. Be at peace Fernie, until we meet again. See you later.

Her favorite quote was “sing like no one listening, dance like no one looking and love like you can’t be hurt.”

Services were private at convenience to the family. Burial was at Milford Cemetery, Dingman Township, Pa.

Memorial donations may be made to Pike County Humane Society, P.O. Box 255, Milford, PA 18337.
