Gloria Verderosa, 77

At 77 years old, Gloria Verderosa (Malley) of Davie, Florida, left this earth to be with her lord and savior on March 3, 2024.

Gloria was born in Brooklyn, New York, later raising her children in Secaucus, New Jersey, and then finding tranquility in Dingmans Ferry, Pennsylvania. The PA winters were hard on her though, and she finally settled down in Davie, Florida, near her daughter Danielle.

Her faith was strong, that coupled with the love for her children kept her going. She was a fighter until the end. She kept her flame burning, a flicker of hope until her last day. That flicker, that fighter, will stay with us always and forever.

Her love of cooking was a comfort to her and anyone who had their plates filled by her. She grew up poor and knew the power of a warm plate of food — a full belly cured all — so she fed anyone, at any time. She found peace in gardening, and her green thumb was proof of the care and growth she cultivated.

Her tenacity, her strength, and her fight were commendable. In her lifetime, she not only fought to survive but taught those around how to survive. That was her everlasting gift to us. She was a loving mother and grandmother, a comforting aunt, and a loyal friend who will be missed deeply.

Gloria was predeceased by her parents John and Mary Eisymont, her brother Robert, her sister and brother-in-law Jean and Miles McDonnell, her nephews John and Eddie McDonnell, as well as her first husband Joseph Malley Sr., and her second husband Ralph Verderosa.

Gloria is survived by her children Joseph Malley Jr., Robert and Caren Malley, Christine and Nick Fraulo, Jennice and Anthony Llaurado, and Danielle and Devin Parry; as well as her grandchildren Kayla, Kara, Katie, Ashley, Emily, Megan, Gabrielle, Sam, Alexandria, Juliana, and Anthony; her great-grandchildren Jayden and Avery; and her fur-baby, Bella.

When the flowers are in bloom and the hummingbirds appear, while aromas from the kitchen call us to the table, it will be our reminder you are forever with us.

Celebration of her life will be scheduled for a later date.
