Helene Elizabeth Lane of Milford, Pa., passed away Thursday, May 7, 2020, at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis, N.Y. She was 86.
Daughter of the late Irving and Helen (Schieffelin) Strauss, she was born Oct. 31, 1933, in Fairview, N.J. She was married to the late Chet Lane.
She was a retired first-grade teacher for Lincoln School in Bergenfield, N.J., an active and loyal member of the New Jersey Education Association, and an accomplished singer who sang on stage for many years with her late husband.
Helene leaves behind her daughters, Willa Moats and husband, Roger, of Milford, Pa., Rita Specht Anderson and husband, Peter, of Sarasota, Fla., and Helene Specht Leary and husband, Thomas, of Milford, Pa.; stepdaughters, Rosanne Huttman and Debbi Patton; grandchildren, Jennifer Niedzinski and husband, Ken, Jeffrey Niedzinski, Shante Anderson, Elijah Anderson, Christalla Philippou, Mathew Philippou, and Eric Philippou; great-granddaughter, Elle Niedzinski; and many step grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Cremation was to be private at the convenience of the family. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
