Joan I. Schaeffer of Dingmans Ferry, Pa., passed away at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown, N.J., on Friday, June 11, 2021. She was 95.
Daughter of the late Ernest and Isabelle (Cookson) Campbell, she was born on Nov. 20, 1925, in Canada.
She graduated from Elizabeth General Nursing School in 1946, worked as a registered nurse for Elizabeth General Hospital, N.J., and was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church, Milford, Pa.
She was married to Richard G. Schaeffer, who preceded her in death on Sept. 10, 2020.
Joan leaves behind her son, Gary Schaeffer, and his wife, Kathy; daughter, Gail Ciandella; grandchildren, Michelle (Ciandella) Hills and her husband, Steve, Ashley (Schaeffer) Porter and her husband, Robert, and Jason Boggs and his wife, Cheryl; great-grandchildren, Jay Thomas, Drew Porter, Luke Porter and Samuel James Porter; and sister, Patricia Thompson.
She was pre-deceased by her son Gerard Schaeffer and her brothers Harry Campbell and Ernest Campbell Jr.
Visitation was held at Stroyan Funeral Home in Milford, Pa., on June 16.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated June 16 at St Vincent de Paul Church, Milford, with The Rev. Joseph Manarchuck officiating. Burial followed at Delaware Cemetery, Dingman Township, Pa.
