Maria (Kraker) Onuszkanycz of Hawley, Pa., passed away Friday, Feb. 28, 2020, at Briarwood Manor, Newfoundland, Pa. She was 87.
Daughter of the late Alois and Helen (Hoelger) Kraker, she was born Oct. 17, 1932, in Gottschee, Austria.
Prior to their retirement, she and her husband operated a Christmas tree farm in Sullivan County, N.Y.
In addition to her husband of 67 years, Dmytro Onuszkanycz, she is survived by two daughters, Margit Miraglia and her husband, Joseph, of Queens, N.Y., and Lydia Waligovska and her husband, Richard, of Punta Gorda Island, Fla.; one brother, Gerhard Kraker of James Island, S.C.; five grandsons and two granddaughters-in-law; and myriad cousins.
Visitation was scheduled for Thursday, March 5, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Teeters' Funeral Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley. The Funeral Mass will be Friday, March 6, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalen, 416 Church St, Honesdale, with Father Christopher Sahd officiating.
Burial will follow in Indian Orchard Cemetery, Honesdale.
