Oliver B. Simmons III

Oliver B. Simmons III of Dingmans Ferry, Pa., passed away on Sunday, Nov. 7, 2021, at Newton Memorial Hospital, Newton, N.J. He was 78.

Son of the late Oliver B. and Mary (Frank) Simmons Jr., he was born on July 25, 1943, in Carlisle, Pa. He was married to Barbara (Boyd) Simmons.

He worked as a probation officer in Dover, N.J.

He was a devout member of St. Vincent de Paul Church, Milford, Pa., member of American Legion Post 851 Tilghman Angle Smith, Dingmans Ferry, Pa., MENSA, American Veterans, National Fraternal Order of Police, and life member of the American Legion Post 0945.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served during Vietnam, and will be remembered for the love he had for his grandchildren.

Oliver leaves behind his loving wife, Barbara Simmons; son, Jeffrey Simmons; daughter, Laura Matthews; 8 grandchildren; brothers, David Simmons, Jon Simmons and Frederic Simmons; sister, Sharon Bruder; and many nieces and nephews.

Cremation was private at convenience to the family at MacLennan Hall Crematorium, Milford Township, Pa.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 30, at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 101 Saint Vincent Dr, Milford, with the Rev. John Boyle officiating.
