Robert S. Breen Sr.

Robert S. Breen Sr. of Wantage, N.J., passed away on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021, at Newton Medical Center. He was 84.

Born in Wantage on May 12, 1936, to the late Paul E. Breen Sr. and Emma (Crawford) Breen, Bob lived in Sussex County all of his life. He had served in the National Guard during the Korean War.

Mr. Breen was employed as a lead mold operator for Ames Rubber for many years. After his retirement in 1984 from Ames Rubber, he worked at Amergraph in Sparta, N.J., for ten years and then retired from High Point Regional High School in Wantage. Mr. Breen was a member of the Sussex Over 50 Club, and he enjoyed trips to different casinos.

He was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Glenda (Sartell); sons, David Breen and Robert S. Breen, Jr.; daughter, Janice J. Gately; brothers, William Breen, Franklin Breen, and Paul Breen Jr.; and sisters, Dorothy Sevek and Violet Vreeland.

He is survived by his son, Gerald J. Breen of Wantage; brother, Donald Breen of Milford, Pa.; sister, Janet Dutko of Sussex, N.J.; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Jan. 18 at the Pinkel Funeral Home, Sussex. Interment followed at Clove Cemetery. Friends paid their respects prior to the service at the funeral home.
