Ronald Franklin Shadler of Shohola, Pa., passed away on Friday, Jan. 17, 2020, at Orange Regional Hospital in Middletown, N.Y. He was 71.

He was born on July 20, 1948, in Port Jervis, N.Y.

He worked for Ford Motor Company in Mahwah, N.J.; Laborers Union Local 1377 in Bangor, Maine, and later retired from Local 17 Laborers Union in Newburgh, N.Y.

Ron loved traveling and spending time with his family, especially on hunting trips to Maine. Ron was an avid outdoorsman, and he took pride in teaching his kids and grandkids how to hunt and fish with him. Ron will be remembered for his big buck stories, his green thumb and his vegetable gardens, his workaholic nature, and his love for animals, especially his beloved Labrador retrievers.

He leaves behind his wife, Martha (Howe), of Shohola; daughter, Erin Gould, and her husband, Joe Gould of Greeley, Pa.; son, Corey Shadler of Milford, Pa.; grandchildren, Karianne, Hunter, and Franky; and great-grandchildren, Thomas, Khloe, and Kennedy.

Friends and family may call at Stroyan Funeral Home on Friday, Jan. 24, from 12 to 2 p.m. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Keith Raser officiating.
