The 2019 Philanthropy Day awards will be presented by the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Northeastern Pennsylvania Chapter, on Friday, Nov. 22, at The Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel, 700 Lackawanna Avenue, Scranton.

Coffee and networking begin at 11 a.m. The program will begin at 11:30 a.m.

Philanthropy Day chair Mary Dolon, a previous Outstanding Fundraising Professional Award honoree, recently retired after 25 years as a grant writer. She consults with local non-profits in pursuit of program funds and mentors new grant writers.

“Philanthropy Day celebrates our region's individuals, foundations, and businesses who generously spend their time working with non-profit organizations and we applaud their dedication to improving our community," she said.

Each year the chapter honors those who, through their tireless work and dedication to philanthropy, have improved the quality of life in our community and around the world. Recipients are nominated for demonstrating outstanding commitment and leadership in all aspects of philanthropy. The chapter recognizes these outstanding honorees who embody the true meaning of philanthropy — the love of humankind.
