Honesdale. Wayne Memorial Hospital, 601 Park Street, Honesdale, is offering a free eight-week Freedom from Smoking clinic at 3:45 p.m. every Wednesday from Feb. 12 to March 25 and one Monday, March 9. It includes nicotine replacement therapy — patches, gum, lozenges — for participants. “A certified facilitator will start by helping you determine if you’re really ready to quit,” said Carol Kneier. The clinic will also examine medications that can increase your success, lifestyle changes to make quitting easier, how to prepare for your “quit day,” coping strategies for managing stress and avoiding weight gain, and how to stay smoke-free for good. Reserve your space by calling 610-379-2001 or emailing gginapio@gmail.com. The program is presented by the PA Area Health Education Center and Wayne Memorial’s Community Relations Department with funding from the American Lung Association.
