Chefs Do Dinner is rescheduled for June 3

Milford. The annual fundraiser for the Center for Developmental Disabilities of Pike County, originally scheduled for March 25, has been postponed amid the coronavirus pandemic.

After Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf said large gatherings with 250 people or more should be canceled or postponed, the Center for Developmental Disabilities of Pike County rescheduled its annual Chefs Do Dinner fundraiser.

The fundraiser, scheduled for March 25, will now take place on Wednesday, June 3, Best Western Inn at Hunts Landing in Matamoras, announced Christine Rolando, CDD executive director

"At the Center for Developmental Disabilities of Pike, Ltd, the health, and safety of our children, families, partners, and employees is our top priority," Rolando said in her announcement. "Like most businesses, we are closely monitoring the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

"Health officials have issued guidelines that recommend canceling any large gathering where participants would be within arms-length of each other. While this is not yet mandatory, we feel it’s better to act cautiously and adhere to those guidelines.

As of Friday, there are 35 presumptive positive cases and 6 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Pennsylvania. There is one case in Pike County, six in Monroe County, and one in Wayne County.
