Construction complete for Log Tavern Road bridge

DINGMAN TOWNSHIP — The Log Tavern Road (Route 2006) bridge, which spans Dwarfs Kill Creek in Dingman Township, is complete and open to traffic.
Part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s Rapid Bridge Replacement Project, the new crossing is longer and wider than the one it replaced and is designed with a 100-year lifespan. Replacement work was performed by Clearwater Construction of Mercer, Pa.
This bridge is referred to as JV-143 and is one out of the 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. "JV" refers to the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.
The Rapid Bridge Replacement Project is a public-private partnership, or P3, between PennDOT and Plenary Walsh Keystone Partners, which will finance, design, replace, and maintain the bridges for 25 years. PennDOT says the P3 approach will allow bridges to be replaced more quickly while saving money and minimizing the impact on motorists.
