Delaware Valley High School seniors lined up their cars at Airport Park in Matamoras decorating and cheering ahead of the 11:00 am parade on May 23, 2021.

A handful of proud parents, along with many area emergency vehicles including Matamoras Fire Rescue, Dingman Township Volunteer Fire Dept. and Westfall Fire Department, joined the celebratory lineup.

Veterans groups, many on motorcycles, joined the lineup as seniors decorated their cars.

The American Legion and other veterans groups lined the sidewalks along the parade route to cheer and shout their congratulations and good wishes.

The parade made its way through Matamoras winding its way onto the Delaware Valley school complex and exiting, moving into Milford. Shohola seniors could follow Route 6, making a right onto Twin Lakes Road to the Shohola Campus.

The remaining parade made a left onto Milford Road to 739 following the DDES entrance and up to the SSMS campus.

Pictures of seniors lined the fences in Milford, popping out of store fronts all along Milford streets.

The picket fence at the Community House showcased senior pictures. Local scouts from Milford Pack 1071 and BSA Troop 71 stood cheering and holding welcoming signs. Along the parade route, people shouted and waved, wishing seniors the best of luck in their futures.

The car parade for seniors seemed to invent itself last year during Covid19 when gathering inside was impossible or drastically limited.

Many said it was now an annual community event.
