The Dingman Township Board of Supervisors and the Pike County Commissioners are hosting an electronics recycling event from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Dingman Township Park, 679 Log Tavern Road (SR2006, across from the firehouse). The event is open to all Pike County residents. Masks are mandatory. The cost is $20 for a car load or $40 for a pick-up truck load, cash only. Dingman Township residents may recycle for free, since the costs will be covered by the township, but a driver’s license is required for verification of residency. The cost for commercial entities is $100, with pre-registration required. Electronics being accepted include: computers/laptops and accessories (cables, keyboards, mice, speakers); computer monitors and printers; battery back-up units/chargers; scanners, faxes, copiers; televisions; VCRs and DVD players; video game consoles; radios, stereos, speakers; telephones and cell phones; and microwaves. No smoke detectors or light bulbs will be accepted. The recycler has the right to reject any material deemed unfit for recycling or that is leaking or would otherwise expose people to hazardous chemicals or sharp objects.
