Honesdale. The Green Party of Wayne County invites all interested citizens to join them for a “Celebration of Peace” on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, Jan. 20, from 4 to 6 p.m. This informal mixer and discussion will take place at Here & Now Brewery on Main Street in Honesdale. “Peace is one of the pillars of our party,” said Green Party Chair Beverly Beers of Bethany. “We want to remember Dr. King and his contributions to the cause of peace, especially now, when the chance of war is increasing around the world.” Green Party member Kevin Richardson says this is an opportunity to talk about peace, meet your local Greens, and learn about its activities. Refreshments will be available. Copies of “The Lilac Book of Peace: Axioms & Quotes,” edited by Green writer Mort Malkin of Milanville, will be available for purchase. For more information, see the party's Facebook page or call chair Beverly Beers at 570-251-9411.
