— Meet the super spellers who will be competing at the Tri-State Spelling Bee, to be held 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 12, in the Dingman Delaware Middle School auditorium.
The first-place winner of the final round, along with a parent or guardian, will represent the tristate area at the National Spelling Bee to be held near Washington, D.C.
Delaware Valley Middle School held its spelling bee on Feb. 14 in the school library, with Mrs. Shedlauskas and Mrs. Morley as the judges and Mrs. Masker as the pronouncer. Twenty-one students scored high enough on a written spelling test taken by the entire school to qualify for the oral bee. The top five finalists — Josh Caraballo, Julian Connaughton, Samantha Hurley, Sophia Romer, Autumn Walzer — will represent Delaware Valley Middle School at the Tri-State Bee.
Dingman Delaware Middle School's winners to go on to the Tri-State Bee are Noah DeFrederico, Lucas Tusinean, Paul Guadagni, Ariella Wilmot, Jore Bagdonas.
