Middle school students win awards in art competition

Dingman. Several students at Dingman Delaware Middle School were recognized for creating award-winning artwork in the Regional Scholastic Art and Writing competition. Amelia Moniot won a Gold Key Award for her clay sculpture and will advance to the national competition in New York City. Both Amanda Valenti and Youngeun Choi received Silver Key Awards for two-dimensional work. Youngeun also received a second award, Honorable Mention, for her watercolor painting. Madeline Oyer placed two Honorable Mention awards in sculpture. Samuel Gouldthorpe received an Honorable Mention award in relief printing. The competition was held in conjunction with the Everhart Museum of Natural History, Science, and Art in Scranton.
