The Milford Masonic Lodge #344 was blessed with beautiful weather as well as very good participation when they held their annual picnic at Gold Key Lake beach.

Many visitors from New York and New Jersey joined members from the local lodge to enjoy the abundance of food, drinks, and yes adult beverages, and cigars as well.

The members brought family members along, and everyone really enjoyed themselves. It just was a really fun day.

Milford Lodge does a number of local charity events. Every Halloween they set up a table on front of the Golden Fish and give away hundreds of dollars of candy. During the holidays they give away dozens free turkeys to families in need. The lodge also offers programs for families or individuals suffering financial hardship.

The lodge gives scholarships to local high school students who are advancing on to college. They have at times provided these scholarships to students of the three Pike County high schools. Delaware Valley, Wallenpaupack, and East Stroudsburg North.

Milford Lodge is holding its sixth annual golf tournament on Saturday, Oct. 9. This is where they raise most of the scholarship money. Golfers are provided with lunch, and there are side contests such as putting, hole in one and team low scores as well as door prizes and a 50/50.
