Lacawac Sanctuary recently announced that Onvo — a network of travel plazas and hospitality businesses — gave $1,000 to support for the organization’s mission of research, education and preservation as a gold corporate sponsor and member, according to a recent Onvo press release.

“We are grateful to Onvo for their financial assistance,” Lacawac President Craig Lukatch said in a press release. “This funding will help children in our community learn hands on K-12 field trips and keep Lacawac’s hiking trails open and free of charge to the public.”

Lacawac’s educational outreach programs serve K-12 students throughout northeastern Pennsylvania. According to the Sanctuary, the donation directly goes to support programs used by children in over 30 school districts in Lackawanna, Luzerne, Pike and Wayne counties.

Founded in 1988 in Tunkhannock by Sonny Singh and Andy Aulakh, Onvo is a hospitality company that serves traveling motorists through a network of businesses located throughout northeastern and central Pennsylvania, and upstate New York.
