Milford. With the heat index predicted to reach the low 100s this week, it is important for older adults to have access to a safe and cool environment.

At-risk during times of high heat and humidity include those who are dependent on supplemental oxygen, have ambulatory challenges, live alone, or have been diagnosed with other chronic conditions causing distress.

The Pike County Area Agency on Aging (AAA) is encouraging older adults who do not have access to adequate cooling systems, fans, or to a cooling center to call the AAA Office at 570-775-5550 or to visit their local senior center.
