Running for office? Petitions to start circulating on Tuesday

Milford. The Pike County Board of Elections set the municipal primary election schedule for 2021.

Candidate packets, including nomination petitions, are now available online at pikepa.org for anyone interested in running for office in Pike County.

The circulation period for nomination petitions to gain access to the May 18 municipal primary ballot begins Tuesday, Feb. 16.

The Pike County Board of Elections, located at 506 Broad St # 201 in Milford, is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. However, due to Covid-19, county offices remain closed to the public after 12:30 p.m. If you need to conduct business with the elections office after 12:30, call 570-296-3427 to schedule an appointment.

2021 municipal primary election schedule
February 16: First legal date to circulate nomination petitions
March 9: Last day to circulate and file nomination petitions
May 3: Last day to register to vote before the primary
May 11: Last day to apply for a mail-in or absentee ballot for the primary election
May 18: Municipal primary election. All mail-in and absentee ballots must be received no later than 8 p.m. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
