Wayne Pike Adult Literacy receives grant from Villaume Foundation

— The Wayne Pike Adult Literacy Program received $6,000 from Villaume Foundation board member Jon Villaume.
The non-profit organization has provided free tutoring, textbooks, and other educational assistance to more than 3,500 adults in Wayne and Pike Counties since 1986.
The Villaume Foundation board selected Wayne Pike Adult Literacy for one of its 2016 community grant awards. Receiving the check on the organization's behalf were David Sutton, Executive Director; Annette Petry, Board President; and Elizabeth Wilson, Board Member.
The John and Helen Villaume Foundation established by Honesdale natives John and Helen Villaume was created to benefit charitable, religious, scientific, literary and educational programs within Wayne County. Since its inception, the Foundation has made awards totaling over $1 million, with Wayne Bank managing the account in the Wealth Management and Trust Services Division of Wayne Bank.
